I mean don't get me wrong, Shawn is great but Gill is even greater! I think Gill should have definintely won! Who else agrees?

i like shawn as well but Gill was better than i thought she would be.
but OH well, when i saw that she was going to be a contestant, i even said it wouldnt matter if she was good or bad, she would for sure win this because of…its just her. LOL.
I have NEVER really watched it before, but when I did last night for the first time, I saw about 3 much MUCH better dancers than her. SHe is very manly to be dressed in those outfits and didnt look graceful to me…sorry , but true!

I'm not mad that she won. She was really good and I think it came down to the freestyle since the person with the best freestyle always wins. After I saw the freestyles, I called it for Shawn to win. Shawn and Mark's freestyle was loaded with dancing, tricks, and high energy while Gilles and Sheryl's freestyle was kind of boring and corny. They should not have done a flashdance theme when he was the contestant, not Sheryl. It did not show off Gilles as a dancer at all. That's why Shawn edged out Gilles.
Shawn is way more famous, she is an Olympian, and she is cute. However, Gilles has had the most media attention throughout the show, he was the frontrunner according to the judges and many others, and he has the looks. So those factors balanced out.
It came down to the freestyle.

I was rooting for Shawn and Mark, but I thought Gille would win.
There are two reasons why I think Shawn and Mark won.
1) Shawn has a bigger fan base. She is a US Olympian..we support our Olympians..bottom line, she had a bigger fan base. More of an older crowd. Gilles only claim to fame is sex in the city. I hated that show with a passion. It was not my cup of tea, so I never had any idea who he was.
2) Cheryl choreographed a HORRIBLE free style for them. Carrie Ann was correct..flash dance is all about a woman's dance..not a man. There was NOT enough dancing by Gille in his freestyle. He was merely following Cheryl around as she imitated the Flash dance moves. Not creative at all…the moves were ripped of a 20 year old movie. I think that played a big part in it for the people that voted due to pure entertainment value of the night.
Like I said, I was voting for Mark and Shawn, but up until the freestyle dances, I thought Gilles had it, that is where he lost it. By less than 1% too. I think Cheryl's bad freestyle is what doomed him.

I totally agree that Gilles and Cheryl should have won. They have been the best dancers all season long. How did Shawn win? I thought Gilles had it locked up. He is so sexy and sensual when he dances. Even Lynn thinks that Gilles was the best dancer this season. I say he's the best that has ever been on the show. I will greatly miss watching him.

In my universe, reality, she finishes fourth.
She's young, emotionally immature, and a fine gymnast.
But on a dance floor she lacks long lines, omits changes of pace during footwork, lacks charisma, and she doesn't finish arm movements crisply. Her body type is wrong for ballroom dancing and frankly it looked to me as a judge that she did well just to get through routines one step at a time.
Gilles is artistically the best dancer they've ever had in my opinion, better than his professional partner, and better than anyone in the history of the show, just as Christie Yamaguchi was on the female side. His mood, charisma, showmanship, variety of steps and line were incredible–Len Goodman said he took him back to his own professional days.
In what universe could Shawn be handed a trophy for what she did? Both Melissa land L'il Kim were better dancers than she was.
I've sworn I will never watch the show again, except for a few minutes at a time to learn something from Len Goodman's courteous judgment. And I mean it. Thank you for using your own mind also.
