The song was originally song by the Casinos back in the 60s, its been covered lots of times including one by Neal McCoy.
The lyrics are:

It was the first song my man and I danced to (the Neal McCoy version) and really the first time I remember thinking how much I truly loved him. Do you think it would be an alright 1st dance song? Or does the ‘then you can tell me goodbye’ part of it sound too much like a jinx?

The point is, wait a lifetime, or a million years, to say goodbye…in otherwords don't ever say it
It doe seem like an odd choice- but if it has meaning to you, then that’s what matters. It seems like you know you want to use it, so go ahead and enjoy your first dance.
Bad Choice. Marriage is forever. It isn’t something you try out to see if it works. If you are marrying each other then you should both feel that it’s forever. I don’t think the guests at your wedding would like it either.

i wouldn’t do it. i’ts you wedding!! you don’t want to talk about “goodbye’s” on your first dance song. . . do something like “my endless love” or “can I have this kiss” or “everything”. . check out songs by michael buble, luther vandross, enrique eglasias. . go to youtube and listen to them. good luck
