I’m a dancer of 15 years and I really want to try out for the show. I’m a little scared though, It is so intense on TV! I know I can push myself to the limits that they ask of a dancer, but I was wondering if I can have some tips for trying out?
should i pretend to be comical for the procuders, like SEX was on the show, and then if i get passed to the judges do real dancing? or should i do real dancing all the way throughout the process.
can you give me some audition tips?
i am not 15. i have danced for 15 years! i am old enough to try out!
You should definitely audition! But dance for real, make sure they know that this is not a joke to you. Audition tip: bring a friend, perhaps a best friend.
I’ve never auditioned but my friend has and made it all the way to the stage in front of the judges, and they kept her around for choreography. She said that they make you dance in a room filled with maybe 30+ people and you all dance your own style. When she auditioned, Shane Sparks and a producer watched the dancing in the room. She said find a way to get to them and dance in front of them and grab their attention, make eye contact and stuff and show your personality in your dancing. She said that she danced her heart out that day. Just give that something extra special. I remember her saying that they chose her and a guy that danced really badly that day, so I guess find a way to stand out if the best thing. Unfortunately she didn’t get a ticket to Vegas, but I wish luck to you

I bet you are an amazing dancer, but you need to be a little more older. Most of the dancers are in their early twenties. Try to get some more professional training and experiment with as many different genres of dance as possible. If you are serious about auditioning, why wouldn’t you want to do your best throughout? Anyways, good luck.

Keep it real throughout the whole process. Don’t pretend to be anything because it might come off as fake to them.
When you dance, dance to your highest potential because you are trying to show them what you are made of, and what you can bring to the table.
Don’t get put down if you get bad criticism. Use those criticism and turn yourself into a better dancer.
