PHILIPSBURG, ST. MAARTEN – Several Caribbean Entrepreneurs including Gregory Richardson, Kaishah Peters, Susan Barnes-Pereira and Reuben Rogers are featured in the latest book by serial entrepreneur Nerissa Golden.

In The Making of A Caribbeanpreneur: Strategies for Overcoming Fear and Building Wealth, Nerissa Golden who founded the Young Entrepreneurs Symposium (YES) in 2006 highlights how Caribbean people can use their passions to create rewarding business ventures.

Golden identifies St. Maarten’s Gregory Richardson a computer-buff who turned his love into one of the Caribbean’s leading network security firms and Kaishah Peters who is knitting her way to profit from a skill learned at her grandmother’s knee. The Cayman Islands’ Susan Barnes-Pereira whose lifetime love of dancing allows her to share her passion with young and old through her dance academy and the Virgin Island’s Reuben Rogers, a jazz bassist who now tours the world with some of the top names in the business are also included.
“All of these people and many more inspired me to follow my own dream of becoming a full-time writer. They all took different paths to get where they are but each determined that they wanted to spend their life doing the thing they loved,” explained the author. “I have always believed that this is the path that entrepreneurs must take for them to overcome the fears and the challenges to being successful in business.”

The book is divided into three sections: What Daddy Taught Me About Money, Fear Factors: Barriers to Financial Success and The Noah Principle: Strategies for Gaining and Maintaining Wealth.

“It was important for me to look at how we relate to money and where we got our ideas about money and wealth. The wrong concept of money will be the greatest obstacle to getting it and keeping it,” said Golden, who founded Victory Christian Academy in 2006. “I share a lot of my own stories, stops and starts of businesses that failed and those that made it because of my own belief systems in the hopes that others can avoid the same pitfalls.”

The attendance has been stronger than ever since it started more than 10 years ago, with great music from a great band and organised with the best leadup work, which is why so many people to repeatedly book every year.

You can scout around in all cities for dance studios that teach these styles, your local area may have a studio. They may also include other styles of dance and this is quite common because of the variety people demand.
