My Dancing with the stars dance pad doesn’t work?

I just bought dancing with the stars game but the pad when i step on the pad the pad buttons don’t work for some reason, what should i do?

Take it back and ask for a new pad, explain it is defective. Or, call technical support and see if they have any tricks that might get it working for you.
