I want to learn ballroom dancing…but don’t have a partner- any classes you know of??

Hi- do you know of any ballroom dance schools in the Long Island, NY area that teach preferably latin but you don’t need a partner for 20 -30 yr olds? thanks!

That’s the norm in ballroom studios. Though some couple do go in together, they’re in the minority. You shouldn’t be in the least self-conscious.
You should take lessons in the ballroom (smooth or standard) dances as well as rhythm/latin. Not only are they socially useful, there are important cross-training aspects to be learned. I know at least one local instructor who refuses to take clients who only want to do the latin dances!

Most ballroom studios do not require a partner. Your instructor will act as your partner. Easy place to search from is accessdance

When I took ballroom I would just show up and the teacher would pair us up. We would switch around people because you won’t neccesarily be always dancing with “your partner”. If you only practice with one person, then you won’t be able to dance with other people. I hope things turn out okay for you!
