How much can i expect to pay for children's dance lessons?

Posted on Wednesday in dance lessons | by

I have an almost 4 year old daughter who will not be quiet about wanting to take dance lessons. I also think they will benefit her in the area of attention span and discipline. Now, seeing as i am a new mother and the last time i had anything to do with dance was when i was 4 and in it, i do not have any idea how much the lessons will cost. I also have no idea what equipment she may need in order to get started either. So any help in this area would me muchly appreciated!

well it depends on how many classes she takes. its around $25 per class per month. if she takes tap…she'll need tap shoes
ballet…ballet shoes
jazz…jazz shoes.
and a leotard&&tights.

    well You have to pay monthly for the lessons and you also have to pay for costumes and shoes. I pay alot for dance but I'm in about 18 different dances and I'm older. It also depends what dance shes doing (ex. tap shoes usually cost more than jazz or ballet shoes) I don't think you'll have to pay that much for it since she's only four years old but it depends on the studio. You should go ask the teachers at the studio how much it costs. Dance is really fun and i bet your daughter would love it =]

    I don't know much about Ballet or Jazz, or even much HipHop, but I do know a lot about tap.

    In tap, a class's cost usually ranged between $25-$60, and tap shoes for little kids can be from $20-$50 also, depending on what they're made of (size too) and who you buy them from. You probably would not want to use 'used' tap shoes.

    For Hiphop, you just gotta wear normal clothes and classes tend to be pretty cheap.

    It depends on where you go and what specific class she is going to take. I didn't pay anything because it was offered by my school. Try looking it up in the internet.

    You might be better off seeing if your local community centers offer any summer dance classes rather than going to a fancy studio. That way, if your daughter tries it and doesn't take to it you're not on the hook for a big contract or more expensive classes. If she does enjoy it, you can always look into more expensive options.

    I can't help with the payment things, but I can help with equipment for ballet.

    If she takes ballet, she will have to wear ballet shoes, tights, a skirt, a leotard, and she needs to have her hair up. My friend used to take lessons and she used to come to school every wednesday with her hair in a bun. but if the skool ur child will be going to doesnt need it in a bun, it's best if u put it up in a pony tail or something. if her hair is too short to do anything with it, you probably wont have to do anything about it, then.

    I HOPE I HELPED!! =)
