How can black women dance so well?

Posted on Friday in so you think you can dance | by

Me and my friend were in a club one night and a fast paced song came on, well me and my friend noticed this black girl dancing and she was dancing really well too. There were other white who was dancing similar to the way she was dancing but they couldn’t even compare to her, how come she made it look so natural and easy? I’m not genralizing this isn’t the first time I’ve seen this, I just find it amazing that’s all.

1. Because black people have rhythm.

2. Because most songs created by blacks have beats. As a matter of fact ALL of the music created by blacks have beats, rhythm…a tune you can nod to, tap your feet to or dance to:

Rap, R&B, swing, funk, motown, jazz, country (copy of the blues), The blues, rock n’ roll, calypso, dance hall, gospel (black gospel music), gospel rap, soul, bebop, reggae

While those created by whites do not. They have melody & harmony:

Opera, gospel, classical

3. Blacks created the first real dance steps that actually gets the person in tune with their body. They used drum beats. Whites created their dance steps from the violins.

4. Black women have an hourglass figure. They’re built to dance.

The black girl made it natural because…it WAS natural.

It’s in the blood. I once attended a step show at my Historically Black University Florida A&M), and all my friends were in attendance. My Nigerian friends marveled at how us African-Americans had rhythm similar to their tribal dances. All of us AA’s thought, our rhythmic connection to Africa was lost during the Middle passage and brutality of slavery. But this was not the case.

If you go on youtube and watch the African diaspora in S. America, Caribbean, Central America, and N. America you will see Africa in our dance and songs. Look up keywords like "Duttywine", "booty shaking", "step show Kappa Alpha Psi," "Samba of Brazil" etc…
We invented all Latin dance and music.
