do i have a chance of making it into univ. of tennessee or louisville?

I go to a public school but it is one of the top 5 in the state.
I’d be going as an out of state student.
I have a 3.0 weighted (i know, it’s bad)
I got a 27 on the ACT.
I’m on three dances teams, teach classes, play tennis, i’m an assistant, and a babysitter.
I’m in law and government at my school and attend Model UNs
I have done a lot of volunteer hours.
I take honors and AP courses. I’m an A and B student.
The first two years of highschool I didn’t care and slacked off a lot.. resulting in my low GPA.
I’m also in the selective production class at my school.

I’ll be sending in 3 teacher recomendations along with a personal statement.
I will also be trying out for the dance teams at those schools and I’ll also send a dvd before hand.

My parents say I won’t have a problem getting in and I use to think I wouldn’t either but now my gpa is freaking me out.

So opinions..
Do you think I have a chance at making it into those schools even with a bad GPA?
Thanks!

Trust me. You won’t have any problem getting into either. I used to go to the University of Tennessee before I transferred. My act score was the same, I didn’t take any AP courses because there was only one offered at my school. Schools don’t look specifically at GPA only. They look at your overall high school career. The fact that you are so involved will definitely make up any difference in your GPA. So relax. You will most certainly get in.
