It is possible for anybody to learn how to dance even if he is not blessed with the skill of dancing. And because dancing is one way to express your real emotions by doing various body movements, a dance class can actually help you learn to do the moves.

Oftentimes, a lot of young girls are willing to enroll in dance classes, but only a few totally understand how they can make the most from their lessons. A progressive dance lesson will result only if students fully grasp the idea of how to approach their classes properly.

Dance students must understand that goal setting is the number one factor towards a successful dance lesson. The dance instructor should be able to set a task for the students and in turn, the students must be able to perform the tasks. There should also be a good relationship between the student and the instructor. In fact, a one on one discussion between both parties is essential especially in identifying what needs to be developed in terms of the skills and abilities of the student. A good partnership should have physical and mental participation as well.

In some instances, some students are too focused with their own facets of dancing because of their desire to ‘do everything right’. This can be risky especially if the instructor is trying to work on something else. Therefore, dance students should understand that performing their old moves and learning new ones do not stop there. In a dance class, students must direct their attention to whatever the instructor has chosen for the class, as far as the techniques and lessons are concerned. It is the prerogative of the instructor if he incorporates your old techniques with the ones you’ve just learned.

If you are enrolled in a dance class, keep in mind that your instructor is your boss, your teacher, and your guide. It does not help both ways when you don’t allow your instructor to have his own judgment. A good dance student does not have second thoughts when it comes to discussing his/her dance weaknesses with the dance instructor. In fact, instructors appreciate it if they are given the lead to teach and work on their abilities towards the goals of the students.

Another very common idea to become successful in the field of dancing is constant practice. It has long been noted that students who spend more time practicing have better performances than those who aren’t that focused on practicing. In any field that entails physical capability, such as sports, most students feel the need to practice even harder to achieve their goals. Sadly though, some social dance students don’t think it is that important to practice at all.

Dancing entails a lot of concentration. And the best way to perfect a dancing skill is through habitual repetition. However, repeated actions can sometimes lead to undesirable effects. Thus, utmost care must be observed to ensure that you practice properly.

A dance class is essential especially if you have that inner desire to learn more. With sheer determination and constant dedication, you can become successful with your dreams of being a good dancer in no time.

Since the beginning of time, dancing has been one of the most primordial forms of expression. With the rise of our cultural identities, different regions around the world have developed their own unique dance forms and styles. These dance forms have come to represent an integral part of our cultural identifies and are often a major source of national pride. The desire to move to a beat is perhaps the most basic of all expressions available to human beings today!

However, as is generally the case with most things, many of us have become conditioned by society to feel shy and introverted and as a result, we have lost our natural ability to dance. The expression ‘two left feet’ could not be more prevalent in the world than it is today. As a result many of us shy away from dancing, and take a sideline seat while watching others on the dance floor. We all wish we could dance without appearing silly or making fools of ourselves. So what if this wish could be a reality? What if we could all find a way to engage in the natural expression of dancing without fear of being judged or labelled as left footed? What if we could learn to look forward to any and all opportunities to dance?

At Rythemics School of Dance, we are committed to helping you find your natural groove and dance away, long into the night. Rythemics is a dance school based in Melbourne that provides you with access to world class dance instructors. We have a wonderful facility that creates a fun atmosphere for you to gain a new skill while simultaneously having a great time. Rythemics offers a wide range of dance classes and will work with you to get you dancing in no time. To find out more about how to enrol in one of our classes or set up private lessons, take a look at our web-site, www.rythemics.com.au

I’m a teenager who is interested in taking dance lessons.
I was thinking about take ballet, my mom says it’s a bit pricey and to think about taking dance lessons more.
Is it really pricey?
I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions in what type of dance I should take?

Ballet if the foundation for all types of dance. It develops your stamina, body strength, and flexibility. I highly recommend taking ballet if you want to get anywhere with your dancing. Jazz & lyrical are very fun classes, and they are very good for flexibility! Tap & Hiphop are also really awesome classes to take, but you probably won’t get as much out of them as you would from ballet or jazz. I personally love tap, but it is usually just a good, fun workout. Depending on what level you are at, how many classes your taking, and which dance studio you are taking at, classes may be very expensive. It pretty much comes down to what you like best.

I turned sixteen last Tuesday and after watching Take The Lead for the ninth time, I decided I have a strong yearning to learn the grand art that is ballroom dancing.
Waltz, tango, anything.
There are advertisements for adult ballroom dance schools in our Yellow Pages, and even my parents were considering taking it.
My question is, is sixteen too young to take ballroom dance lessons?
I live in New Jersey, where do they offer ballroom dance lessons for teenagers?

Go for it, you never know till you try, it!!! You just might like it and enjoy the company of others.

Music provides a beautiful, emotional element to your wedding and reception. Moreover, the music and songs you select will also help make your wedding uniquely your own. Here are some tips on how to enhance the different phases of your wedding with music.

You’ll most likely choose two different types of music for your ceremony and reception – softer, romantic music to be played or sung before, during, and after the ceremony, and entertaining or dancing music for the reception. In some cases, the same musicians are able to provide both. As an alternative, you might choose to have the church organist or soloist, or one set of musicians for the ceremony, and a band or entertaining DJ for your reception.

Should you wish to have music playing before the ceremony, instrumentals can establish an atmosphere for your guests and may include mood-setting pieces that your early-to-arrive guests can enjoy as they wait for the show to begin. For example, in traditional Jewish ceremonies, it is common to have a pre-ceremony reception or cocktail hour during which the bride and groom have separate chambers in which to greet guests, in addition to a common area where hors d’oeuvres and drinks are served. It is festive to have musicians and possibly a singer in the common area at this time to “warm up” the guests with some soft or lively music. Even chamber music wouldn’t be out of place.

For the ceremony, be sure to check with your site coordinator or officiant regarding any restrictions or limitations that might be in place on music selections. Some places of worship limit the music selections to whatever their own organist can play. However, there are numerous other options for your ceremony music, when allowed, including a harpist, violinist, string quartet, trumpeter, saxophonist, classical guitarist, keyboardist, flutist, and vocals or choir.

Your reception music can range from a refined background element during dinner to music for dancing. For example, a string quartet, violin or harp is a polished backdrop for your celebration, while a rock band or twelve-piece orchestra will provide a wider range of lively tunes. If you and your fiancé are strong music aficionados, you may even opt for different groups of musicians or even a DJ alternating with a band that specializes in your favorite style(s) throughout the reception — whether it’s jazz, rap or pop. Your style choices can also reflect your ethnic heritage, such as Latin, Klezmer or Irish step. Remember that good bands and DJs book up early, so you’ll need to start researching your options from nine to 12 months in advance. And, of course, be sure you have the chance to hear them in action before you decide to hire them.

While a live band might seem like the ultimate in wedding reception entertainment, keep in mind that most won’t have the same range of selection that an established DJ will. There will also be “dead air” when the band takes their scheduled breaks, unless you make arrangements for something to be played during that time. If you opt for a DJ, make sure you choose one who is both experienced and fun and can play a variety of songs, from slower traditional to ‘50s to rock and roll to faster contemporary music for dancing.

If you’d like to give guests a performance they’ll always remember, consider staging a humorous dance and/or lip-sync number to a popular tune with your fiancé and perhaps a couple of members of the wedding party. Keep it tasteful — remember, this may show up on your wedding video! But it is your wedding, so it’s OK to have fun and let your hair down a little. And if you and your fiancé have taken dance lessons and are proud of what you can do, go on out there and strut your stuff!
