Are there some basics moves before I get into the wave, popping, locking, gliding, and so on? Or I can just start with anything I want?
O.k., that comment from Pick a daisy darling was very much partially incorrect. Though I very much agree that learning hip hop at a studio is a really fun and good idea, i do not agree that hip hop is not technique! And that hip hop is not hard!
I am not biased, either! I take ballet, jazz and hip hop, and each definitely have their own technique, and are hard in their own ways! Undermining hip hop is wrong.
Some real basic moves taught to our younger kids are:
-"Booty" calls
-Digs
-Step touch
-Kick step touch
-Slide ball change
-Hip hop "walks"
-Body ripples
-Mono
-Isolations (ribs, hips, head etc.)
-Hip hop "turns"
-Slides
Sorry to harsh your mellow- JK- but I'm afraid you might want to learn basic technique. UMMM… start researching dance -studios. I'd go with Step One. And, hip-hop is really not difficult. If you want real technique, try lyrical, ballet, or jazz. Jazz is great, I suggest that.
